Sightstream

Love your Frog but not the faff?

Keep the streaming. Keep the joy. Lose the tripod, permanently.

Streaming's the best thing your club ever did - you know it, and the WhatsApp group knows it. Grandparents watching from three counties away. Clips doing the rounds on socials. The teams watching themselves back in the bar. Everyone loves the Frog!

But it can be a faff…

The battery that wasn't charged, the loose connection that worked last week but not this. The video that drops out mid-over for reasons nobody ever finds. The junior match at 5:30pm midweek when the coach has to remember to hoist the tripod and make all the connections on top of laying out the boundary, erecting the wickets, checking the team in and warming up - and that's if they can remember how. And then on Saturdays, it all has to come down whilst everyone else is in the bar, not to mention the sudden downpours and the rush to get it protected!

The dream

Wouldn't it be great if the whole thing just… stayed up? Permanently mounted, properly powered, managed remotely - so the only thing anyone does on match day is play cricket?

It exists

It's been running all season at our own club in Bledlow Ridge. A permanent camera in the right position, a sealed equipment cabinet, everything remotely managed. The results: 53 matches streamed this season - up from 38 the year before with portable kit - including every midweek junior game. Zero failures. No flat batteries, no dropouts, no tripods, no dodgy connections, no support calls all season. The only routine touch is aiming the camera at the right pitch before a match - done remotely from your phone, in under a minute.

The permanent setup at Bledlow Ridge: PTZ camera mounted on a galvanised pole with a sealed equipment cabinet below, cricket match in play behind

The actual setup: camera up the pole, everything else in the cabinet - while the match just gets on with it.

What changes / what doesn't

What doesn't change: your streaming platform, your scoring, your YouTube channel, your streaming pass. Everything your viewers see stays exactly as it is.

What changes: nobody puts anything up, or takes anything down, ever again. The camera lives at the ground, properly mounted and powered. We can watch the system remotely and fix most issues before you notice, and support you on match days. Midweek juniors get streamed because nothing needs setting up.

The price

From £1,950** - our 2027 launch price, including installation, equipment, and three seasons of care (remote management, match-day support, software upgrades, swap-out cover). Hardware carries the manufacturer's warranty.

Every ground is different - camera position, power, network - which is what the survey answers: £150 - we survey your site, can give you a demonstration of the kit, and provide a written proposal. The fee is deducted from the installation fee within 12 months. The survey includes a real working demonstration with the actual kit: we put your own ground live on screen, there and then, and hand you the controls. The written proposal carries exact recommendations and costs for your ground, yours to take to the committee.

Questions clubs ask

How does the Sightstream camera fit into our FrogBox setup? A Sightstream installation replaces the camera, tripod, PTZ mount and battery that you put up and down every match, and it plugs into your existing FrogBox encoder - which is the gateway to the FrogBox ecosystem. You continue to schedule and manage your sponsors through FrogBox Go, but the permanent camera install is downstream of the existing encoder, which you keep. You will need to continue to pay the FrogBox streaming pass to access their system and continue to stream.

Will this interfere with our existing setup? No - your existing streaming carries on exactly as it is. We survey first precisely so everything is designed around what you already have.

Maybe you're about to upgrade your kit anyway. Perfect timing - upgrade and go permanent in one move, one decision at the committee, one weekend of change.

Our ground is leased / council-owned. Common, and solvable - removable pole-mounted installations exist for exactly this. The survey covers your installation rights.

If the camera goes wrong, who do I call? In the very unlikely event that you have any hardware issues, or issues that we can't resolve remotely, then we can book a service call directly and we will visit to rectify the issue - and we can deal with any warranty claims. In practice we hold extra hardware and we'll swap in components as they are required, assuming you're subscribing to our service package and the equipment is still in warranty. Where the issues rest with Play Cricket or FrogBox, we can advise on this - it's not unknown for the Play Cricket Scorer server to go down on Saturday afternoons.

Who are you? I'm Humphrey - I built and ran the permanent setup at my own club, Bledlow Ridge CC, through the whole 2026 season. Sightstream installs and manages the same setup for clubs that love streaming but are done with the faff.

Installations for spring 2027 are booking now. We build the kits over the winter and install in February and March, ready for the new season. We take a limited number of clubs each year and close the list when the schedule is full. A 50% deposit against your proposal secures a build slot, first come first served. The £150 survey commits you to nothing: you get the demonstration, the written report for your committee, and the £150 comes off the installation if you go ahead.
